Here´s a collection of the tenors that I know of that have gone for the high F (F5) towards the end of act III of Bellini´s "I Puritani". 1. William Matteuzzi. Although he can do much fuller high F:s (e.g. la Scala di Seta and L´Italiana in Algeri) this one is at least confirmed as the only official version witout falsetto. He does the F in head voice (he has a very high tessitura). 2. Swedish Tenor Nicolai Gedda does the F in mixed voice (head voice with a substantial amount of chest tone), although it is lacking somewhat in power the sound projected is bel canto. 3.
