Host Scott Studenberg explains differences in denim. Lust for Looks Episode: “Jean Cut” Scott Studenberg: Hey guys I am Scott Studenberg back here with Lust for Looks, I am here with Lisa Schecter designer and stylist. I am so glad she is going to be here with us to discuss legs, legs of jeans. So let’s start with the first leg. Lisa Schecter: Which is a tapered jean? Scott Studenberg: Tapered jean Ernest Sewn. Lisa Schecter: I think this look is really easy for most guys. Any guy can wear it, it can be causal it can be dressy. Scott Studenberg: Totally, a lot of skater guys, always wear the tapered jeans. But what if you want to go skinnier? Lisa Schecter: If you want to go for super skinny, you need a little bit of stretch because that won’t give enough, so you have to go into the girls department, which you should not be afraid to do because they have wonderful jeans. As long as the details like the stitching, there’s no floral nothing obviously female about it there is probably no problem getting a woman’s jean, and it will probably fit you better. It’s not for every guy. Scott Studenberg: It’s not for every guy! Lisa Schecter: I think this jean looks good on everyone; this is the Levis 501… Scott Studenberg: The Levis 501 classic. Lisa Schecter: It’s a classic straight leg. Scott Studenberg: Dark wash, great. Lisa Schecter: I think pretty much you can wear this with any dress shoes, sneaker. I don’t know I think it’s just a great fit. Scott Studenberg: This is probably what the majority of you would wear. I would go with the boot cut like we have here. Lisa Schecter: Interesting part about this jean right here is the seam, if you can see it. It goes down and it cures into the front, which is going to taper your leg. Not as much as a tapered jean, but more so than a skinny jean. So it’s slightly fitted but it’s still baggy. It gives it more shape, it is a tailored look but it is still a jean. Scott Studenberg: And at the same time, these are great to wear with boots. Lisa Schecter: If you looked at the straight jean before and the Levis is really a heavier fabric. This isn’t going to hang like that. With this it is much softer and is going to give you more movement when you walk. Scott Studenberg: I hope we cleared something up for you today, now you all have some better legs. See you next time on Lust for Looks.
