Manmohan Singh and Sonia Gandhi on May 21 lead the nation in paying homage to former Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi on his 18th death anniversary. Gandhi was assassinated by a Tamil Tiger female suicide bomber in 1991 in apparent revenge for sending a peacekeeping force to Sri Lanka in 1987.
