Some of the toughest men from around the world gathered in Bangkok this weekend to participate in the 'Strongman 2006' competition to gain the title of the World's Strongest Man. The competition took place on Saturday (November 4) at a shopping mall and the event attracted hundreds of onlookers who wanted to catch a glimpse of the muscular men showing off their power as they carried and pulled massive objects. Nine contestants came from around the world -- United States, England, Norway, Belgium, France and Thailand -- to join the event this year and for many it was their first time attending such a competition. All the competitors have been doing mainly weight-lifting but the game requires not only muscle power, but also technique to succeed a tough test. "This game was very difficult and you really have to practice a lot to get your technique down perfect," said an American Douglas Taylor.
