The African Economic Outlook, an annual report published by the Organisation for Economic Cooperation and Development reports more strong growth from the continent but says Africa urgently needs to move from volatile to sustainable growth. This year's African Economic Outlook, a snapshot of the economic condition of African countries, paints a positive picture of the continent, following on strong growth in 2006. Statistics from the past several years show Africa pulling itself out of a decades-long slump. The report, which the Organisation for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) describes as a reference point and a health check for the continent and which takes into account the influences of both internal factors and of the global economy, provides an overall analysis of the state of Africa's economies.
