Bank Robbery Ends In Downtown Seattle Shootout 6:04 pm PDT July 1, 2008 SEATTLE -- Scores of police officers surrounded an SUV with their guns drawn in downtown Seattle following a chase that started in West Seattle following a takeover-style bank robbery, reported KIRO 7 Eyewitness News. The FBI said a Wells Fargo Bank at California Avenue and Admiral Way was robbed by a man at 10:10 a.m. Tuesday. FBI spokesman Robbie Burroughs said a man walked into the bank wearing a dark brown wig, a black jacket, black pants and had some kind of black shoe-polish type material with glitter in it spread on his face. That man has been identified as 51-year-old Douglas Michael Cox. Burroughs said Cox jumped over a gate into the tellers’ area, pointed a gun at a teller, demanded money and then ran out and got into a waiting SUV driven by 47-year-old Kevin V. Palmer.
