Brisbane,queensland, July 22 2008 Questions are being raised about how Queensland Police deal with the homeless, in the light of new video footage showing officers kneeing and punching a homeless man. The surveillance camera footage shows Peter Willimae, who police admit was disturbing no-one, being kicked and punched while being pinned to the ground. The officers who arrested Mr Willimae were based in Brisbane's Fortitude Valley, a popular night spot where police frequently come into contact with drunk and violent offenders. But shortly before midnight on March 20, Mr Willimae and his friend were anything but violent. "I was sitting down there very nicely, comfortable and all that. And suddenly they come and harass me," Mr Willimae said. A police officer told Mr Willimae he could not drink alcohol in a public place and asked him to get rid of his drink.
