A 19-year-old accused of leading police on a dangerous high-speed pursuit was later found by police sleeping in the middle of the road. Paul Scovronski, 19, fled from Wintersville police in a pickup truck. With speeds reaching upwards of 80 miles per hour, Wintersville police called in backup. But, police said with every minute that went by, the chase got more and more dangerous. Back roads got dusty and the ruts made it hard for cruisers to keep up, so more backup agencies were called. Soon after, Scovronski collided with a Jefferson County Sheriff's car, causing Scovronski's truck to crash in a ditch. Scovronski then ran into the woods and disappeared, police said. After a massive search of the area, Wintersville police abandoned the search and headed back to the station. But on their way back, they found Scovronski in the middle of the road, sleeping.
