Give the item to the pokemon to hold. This version of Cloning is morely a Trial and Error and may take some time before you get results. 1. Have a team of only 5 or less before you enter the GTS. When you enter, go to Deposit Pokemon, and put up the pokemon you want to clone. In place where you place what you want, just put a random pokemon that you KNOW no one would have on their team. Anything Useless like a Magikarp. This helps ensure you don't lose the pokemon to someone during the cloning process. 2. After that, you will get to a loading screen.
