Jemima is a 14-year-old schoolgirl. Her heart-throb is Alan Shearer, her favourite read is Harry Potter and her pet cat and hamster always make her smile. Jemima has cerebral palsy, is profoundly deaf, and cannot talk. Her gateway of communication to the outside world is her Dynavox computer. By a series of commands, which she has now mastered, she can audibly communicate with anyone. It takes great time and effort, but she likes her new voice.
