For the second time in less than two months, a construction crane has collapsed in New York City. This crane collapse occurred during the morning rush hour at a construction site near 91st Street and First Avenue on New York's Upper East Side. Initial unconfirmed media reports say at least two people were killed and the crane operator was injured. Aerial video shows a large portion of the crane tumbled onto a residential apartment building. The New York City Fire Department says it has pulled several people out of the wreckage. In March, a giant crane fell in midtown Manhattan and crushed a residential building , killing seven people and injuring more than 10 others. There are currently around 200 construction cranes operating in Manhattan. Jon Decker, Reuters
