The Kansas Jayhawks won their third NCAA Basketball Championship after defeating the Memphis Tigers 75-68 on Monday. The game was close from the start but with just under two minutes left Memphis began to pull away . Kansas battled back and relied on a strategy of fouling since Memphis struggled with free throws throughout the season, making just over half of them. The strategy paid off and with a few seconds left in the game, Kansas was only down by 3. Kansas star Mario Chalmers shot a heavily contested three pointer with 2 seconds left. It somehow went in and tied the game. Kansas used their momentum to take over the extra period and secure the win.
