And read the tiny FAQ at bottom if you're wondering how you can not level up.Bahamut is an optional boss in FFVIII. Beating him makes him join you as a GF (Summon). He is located in the Deep Sea Research Center, and can be obtained as soon as you get the Ragnarok near the end of Disc 3. Speaking of which, as soon as you get the Ragnarok and do the small scenes before going into the Lunatic Pandora, it's the best part of the game to do and finish sidequests. The LP is pretty much a point of no return, so don't go there yet unless you've done everything (unless of course you don't care).Anyway, don't underestimate Bahamut. He can end the fight easily if you're unprepared. You also are forced into two Ruby Dragon fights before hand, in which you must defeat them without being able to access the menu, and then you go right to Bahamut. So make sure you prepare...
