Kayla has been discharged from the hospital but will not leave until she sees her baby boy. The baby is still in the neonatal ICU and is not breathing on his own. Steve and Stephanie are with her, all terribly worried about baby Joe. The nurse allows Steve and Kayla to reach into the incubator and touch the baby's tiny hands. It is a moving moment for the family as they try and show their baby how much he is loved. Steve and Stephanie surprise Kayla by taking her home to their new apartment. Kayla is thrilled until she finds out they are subleasing the place from EJ DiMera. Steve tells her not to worry. Stephanie arrives at the pub for her internship evaluation.
