Do you think you're paying more for gas than your friends across the country? You're right... North Dakota's average price for gas is among the highest in the nation. But why? Senator Byron Dorgan is having a U.S. Senate hearing in Bismarck today to get answers... He wants to find out why North Dakotan's pay more for gas than almost anywhere else in the U.S. At one point this year only Hawaii had higher prices. He also wants to know why there was a gasoline and diesel shortage. Doctor Howard Gruenspecht with the U.S. Department of Energy says from 2003 to 2006 North Dakota was about a penny or two around the national average.
