Drinking and Driving is a problem in North Dakota... Each year about five thousand people are arrested for driving drunk. And for many of those DUI offenders it's not their first. Donnell Preskey joins us with more on a program that forces repeat DUI offenders to stay away from alcohol. For many DUI offenders it's not a one time instance of I drove drunk and got caught. In 2006 1 in 3 DUI's were repeat DUI offenders that's two thousand people. Even more startling 119 people were convicted of their 4th DUI in 7 years. Now the state of North Dakota is testing out a program that could help those repeat DUI offenders stay sober... It's part of their morning routine... It's 8 a.m. and stopping at the Burleigh County Courthouse is more important than anything else these people do today... For Jeri Anne Wilkie getting a breathe test twice day keeps her out of jail.
