Peter Barnes was appointed General Manager and Creative Director of MDA Barr Woollard Cawrse NT in 1987, with overall responsibility for improving the creative output, client base and financial performance of the agency. From a position of near closure due to previous poor management, within twelve months the agency became the leading and most influential advertising and marketing company in the Northern Territory. Peter was directly appointed by the Chief Minister (The Hon. Steve Hatton) of the Northern Territory to oversee and direct Northern Territory Government advertising and marketing, which included the Territory's desire to achieve Statehood.
