Coral Gables Road Remains Closed After Crane Collapse 6/28/06 Noon Yusila Ramirez Sevilla and Palermo Avenues at Le Jeune Road in Coral Gables remain shutdown Wednesday following a crane collapse. The crane that was being used to build the future headquarters of the City National Bank in Coral Gables crashed Tuesday evening and the culprit is believed to be the day's heavy rains. Structural engineers are investigating the accident and say the developer and the crane operator could face fines if it's determined that the crane should have been tethered or brought down due to the weather. At first, the crane's top portion came came off, crashing onto the ground after the severe storms hit the area. Construction workers scrambled to the first floor of the tower under construction to find the fortunate news that no one had been hurt in the accident.
