The Mayor of London, Ken Livingstone, today announced a 46 per cent reduction in cab-related sexual offences over the last five years. The latest figures reveal that the number of cab related sexual offences have fallen year on year between 2002 and 2007. They have fallen from 157 cab-related sexual offences at the end of November 2002 to 84 at the same time in 2007. This reduction has been brought about firstly through the licensing system for minicab operators, drivers, and vehicles that Transport for London has operated since 2001.
