Lakeland, Florida 8/27/2007 A large fire continues raging at a Lakeland Electric substation at 901 Lebanon Road, but all power has been restored in the area. Residents within a quarter mile radius of the station are urged to stay inside due to thick, billowing smoke coming from the area of Wabash Avenue and Highland Avenue. Some have been told to evacuate. Lakeland Electric said the fire resulted from an auto transformer that utilizes oil as a coolant, and apparently the transformer had failed and ignited the oil. No injuries have been reported.
