Our task in this episode is to decipher these names, and to map them onto the brain.Before we start, I’d like to remind you of what we already know from philosophy. Berkeley, Locke and Descartes all appeared to have differing areas of consciousness. Berkeley spoke of a label of pain and pleasure, and Locke mentioned seeing a substratum.
