Randy Pausch, a Carnegie Mellon science professor, who became well known for his “Last Lecture” YouTube presentations… passed away on Friday due to complications from pancreatic cancer. Pausch became famous on the internet when he delivered his talk about facing terminal cancer, which eventually turned into a national best-selling book. Pausch was recognized within computer science for his research on the way that humans interacted with computers. In his YouTube clip, he talked about fulfilling his childhood dreams and joked about his fascination with winning stuffed animals at amusement parks. Pausch lobbied for more federal funding for pancreatic cancer research in front of Congress. He is survived by his wife, Jai, and three children, Dylan, Logan and Chloe. He was only 47.
